In
2001, Ross and Debbie Hoffmeier began volunteering with Breakaway Outreach,
a ministry at a local facility, God called them to start an aftercare
program for youths being released from the institution.
Through much prayer, planning and preparation, the Hoffmeiers opened
their home to serve as a discipleship home for youth offenders who have
made a commitment to Christ and have shown a willingness to pursue God's
plan for their lives.
The Shepherd's Inn Ministry, Inc. is a Christian, faith-based, non-profit
corporation established in 2005 to offer a holistic approach to providing
at-risk youth a way out of a troubled past. Youths who are living in
the home are provided a place where they can grow their faith while
learning vocational skills. These youths also have the opportunity to
be involved with mission projects as they participate in a short-term
internship program with Breakaway Outreach, producing evangelistic television
productions.
